Call for Papers
We invite proposals for full papers (15 minutes presentation + 5 minutes for Q&A) and for posters on topics related to metaphor using a variety of empirical methods including but not limited to:
- Metaphor processing
- Brain correlates of metaphor
- Metaphor skills in the lifespan, from development to aging
- Metaphor challanges across typical and atypical populations
- Modelling of metaphor (computational studies)
- Metaphor types (textual analysis and corpus studies)
Submissions that promote the dialog between traditional textual/corpus linguistics approaches and experimental approaches are particularly welcome.
We also invite posters detailing work-in-progress and interim results.
To avoid inadvertent use of potentially offensive terms, and in accordance with the RaAM Code of Conduct, contributors are kindly asked to make reference to the following sets of guidelines when preparing their abstracts.
- APA guidelines Choosing Words for Talking About Disability
- International Pragmatics Association Avoiding ableist and non-inclusive language
Participation at RaAM events is reserved to RaAM members. This applies equally to presenters, non-attending co-authors, and non-presenting delegates. You need not be a RaAM member at the time when you submit an abstract, but you must join in order to present your work or to attend the seminar. See Registration page.
