Communicating Risks:

Health, Environment, and Climate Change

Workshop - 9th March 2026

9.30AM - 5.00PM
Palazzo Broletto, Sala del Camino

This workshop will explore how theoretical models of risk perception and decision-making, as well as different narrative strategies and communication practices, including metaphors, shape the current understanding of health and environment-related risks.
Bringing together scholars from different disciplines, from philosophy to textual linguistics, from narratology to experimental pragmatics and communication studies, the event offers a kaleidoscope of viewpoints in an inter- and multi-disciplinary perspective on how such risks are conceptualized, communicated, and therefore how they can be acted upon.
